Me too! Posted on the blog.

From what I can tell, this doesn't look good.

From site:
★ were closed. / 2009.7.29
The closure came in the mail, things like weird.
I Do not tint.

I get the impression he was threatened, maybe by Konami, but it sounds like it was just some random dude. Maybe someone else who can actually read Japanese will know better.

Looks like he replied to me & pedropete1:

I guess it would be ok to ask for the source now.....hahahahahahaha.

Oh shit:

http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~yyagi/dtxma ... dex_e.html

Tomb of DTXMania English resource center
The last update: July 30th, 2009

In these days, "a representative anti-DTXer" seemed to E-mail to some DTX data authors. It claims to delete all DTX data what pirate someone's copyrights.
He(or she) did that actions from his(her) overconscioused sense of justices ... , I believe.

And some anti DTX people complains FROM (DTXMania author) something
(sorry I don't know what's happen to him in detail. He only says "I closed site because curious E-mail has come." "I just closed DTXMania pages, because of a complaint of anti DTX people." )

I don't know the relations between "a representative anti-DTXer" and "anti DTX people". However, as the result, the official DTXMania site is closed by FROM.

Now official DTXMania site doesn't has any contents. All contents are DELETED. It means all links to the Japanese official contents are dead.

Therefore, I (yyagi) also delete all official DTXMania English resources here. I'm extremely sorry to your inconvenience.
# But I don't delete some non-official DTXMania contents.

I hope somebody has a backup of the site on their hard drive. Those help pages were awesome.

Are these guys insanely paranoid chickens, or what?

That sucks... this site's been asking for a cease-and-desist letter to come my way for a while. Maybe these Anti-DTXer people are struggling to write an English version for me

Can any of you access Jinnai's simfile board? I think it went down a couple of days ago, maybe for the same reason?

It's time to move to the oil rig in international waters. Think we can get a good ISP out there?

OH CRAP!!!!!!!!

DO NOT VISIT THE ENGLISH PAGES UNTIL YOU BACKUP YOUR LOCAL CACHE!!!!

If you use IE, go to internet options, under General - Browsing History - Settings - View Files. This will open an explorer window showing your web page cache. Sort by internet address and save any files that start with "http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/"

I need the dtx file definition page!

There's a post on FROM (DTXMania's blog) explaining pretty much what y.yagi already said.
http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_ur ... =Translate

I dunno -- I've always felt that DTXMania to Drummania is like Stepmania to DDR or Guitar Hero to Guitarfreaks: taking a concept in a different direction.
- I don't think Konami would be worried about a sim like DTXMania threatening their market, our community is so small... they should be far more concerned about Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

If I were FROM, I would probably ask for a collaboration with Konami and make DTXMania go commercial like a PC version of Rock Band. Having put so much effort into DTXMania, it seems like an awful waste to just abandon the whole thing now.

As for music companies suing DTX makers posting simfiles... that's a real possibility, especially for a site like this one. I guess it's just as illegal and sue-able as the blogs posting megaupload links of albums (except that there is added value).

What's your view on this whole anti-dtxer situation?
