The set does send out different midi notes for each pad/cymbal so you probably could configure your PC to pick it up.

What do you mean by that? I'm going to set the key configuration using a software like joy2key?

Actually, plugging the USB into a PC won't allow it to distinguish between the cymbals/toms. You'd have to find some application or driver that can do it.

Rockband can obviously distinguish between them so there should be a way on the PC as well.

There is an issue with those add-on cymbals though I use one of them...

It CAN be configured using Joy2Key. But the thing is ... For example if you plug it in the green jack behind your Rb drum, it will be recognized as both the cymbal AND the green tom. Kinda hard to explain, but the way they are designed in Rock Band 2, they will always do that. So you need some kind of back-up plan for NOT using the matching tom pad on your drum if your using a cymbal add-on. Or else you will hear the cymbal AND the tom at the same time...

In short you won't be able to use the green or blue tom, depending on wich jack you plugged in your cymbal. It's like they're linked together. So Joy2Key won't solve that problem.

Personnaly, as a solution I use one cymbal for my main crash and don't use the last green tom (wich is the floor-tom for Dtxmania, purple one), instead I have another drum kit next to the main one, so I use one of it's pads for my last tom.

Hope this is not too complicated and gives some insight !

Planning to buy Rock Band 2 and a triple cymbal kit.

From what I read in your post grumpy, You cannot set everything individually, some are linked.

Does this mean I cannot assign each like(Example only) s-d-f-space-j-k-l ? Because j and k are the same and will register together even if I just hit one ?
For Hi hat, snare, bass, green tom, red tom, purple, cymbal.
Oh now time to go to that GH WT again, *shudders at all the scary comments, but the trend is that all of them ARE 2008 posts, nothing above the 4th quarter of 2009, does this mean its fixed?
